LabArchives will keep your entries safely for twenty years and your institution may already pay for it. What it will not do is tell you that the reagent in entry 402 expired, or let you open the vial and see every experiment it went into. That connection is the whole reason we exist.
If your institution already licenses LabArchives, your compliance office already accepts it, and you only need a notebook, switching costs you more than it earns. Its longevity is a real argument and we are not going to wave it away.
LabArchives is quoted institutionally and often paid centrally, so your lab may see no line item at all. SLIM is €160 a month (annual billing) per laboratory, and falls per lab as more of an institute joins.
